With its slogan of "Sun, Sea and Joggers Festival," the Naha Marathon began in 1985, growing in scale year after year. Today it is the greatest full-scope marathon in the country, gathering more than 10,000 people from inside and outside the prefecture, becoming a poetic fixture and natural feature of Okinawa's winter.
