On July 1, 1967 Southwest Airlines (present-day JTA)
replaced the Air America flights that were flying to
Okinawa's outlying islands. Flights from Naha to Miyako,
Ishigaki, Yonaguni and Minami Daito Islands were available.
The very first flight to these islands was the first
post-war "Rising Sun" plane and received a
magnificent welcome.
