The Zengunro Strike ,1969
On June 5, 1969, 20,000 members of the All Okinawa Military Employee's Union (Zengunro) held a complete 24 hour strike. Picketers around each of the gates clashed with soldiers armed with bayonets. Four people, including the Socialist Masses Party Chairman Tsumichiyo Asato, suffered slight injury from the bayonets of soldiers.
