Akae-wan Bowl decorated with Plum and Bamboo
in Overglaze Enamels
The front of this piece has a plum branch pattern and the back is painted with a bamboo. This bowl is overglaze enameled Tsuboya-yaki ware. How and where it was used is unknown, but this type of ware was not mass-produced and it is believed it was made on special order.
