One of the most exquisite of the pieces in the customs and manners genre. The term "Uyanmaa" was the name of a position in the household of the Shuri officials dispatched to the Miyako and Yaeyama Islands. At first glance the woman might appear to be wearing an upper class garment but it is actually the dress of a commoner.
