| This collection of histories together with the Chuzan Seiken comprise the official history of the Ryukyu Kingdom. This history consists of the Saikaku (7 books in 7 volumes) and the Saion (12 books in 14 volumes) The Saitaku was compiled from 1697 to 1701, and the Saion from 1724 or 1725 to 1876.
