Sueki Earthenware Vessel
Excavated from the Yaji-Yagama site on Kume-jima Island. Sueki ware is an unglazed, vitreous, blue-gray earthenware pottery. In Okinawa this type of pottery was first seen in the 12th century at the beginning of the Gusuku (castle) period. Okinawa Prefectural Museum Collection
