Enkakuji Soumon (The gates of Enkakuji Temple)
Enkakuji Temple was the head temple of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism in the Ryukyus. This temple was where prayers were offered to the ancestors of the Second Sho Dynasty. Construction is said to have started in 1492 and took 3 years to complete. This temple was dedicated to the repose of King Sho Shin's father, Sho En. Designated a National Historical Monument.
