Shureimon Gate
Shureimon Gate (The Gate of Propriety) was once the second gate of Shurijo Castle after Chuzanmon Gate. Older names for it are Taikenmon and Shurimon. It is said to have been built during the reign of King Sho Sei (1527-1555). The construction is in the Chinese decorative style with Ryukyuan red roof tiles. In 1972 it was designated a Cultural Property by Okinawa Prefecture.
