@Square with re-entrant corners, edge panels which flare outwards slightly and a low pedestal. The tray surface is in cinnabar lacquer, the underside of the edges is yellow and the reverse of the tray is in black lacquer. The central scene is a pair of birds with peonies and rocks in chinkin inlay. There is an inner border of arabesque and cloisonn_, surrounded by a second border of green lacquer. The tray edges have double borders and are filled with a petal design. It is an excellent example of early chinkin.
